“Enjoy the winter Budapest We are in the last month of winter, and probably fed up with coldness and darkness. We miss the open air programs. But it is not necessary to be out only from home to school/work and back. Winter is not only a time to survive, it can be also a time of special pleasures, good feelings and amazing programs for everybody. Take a big breath and go out to Városligeti Műjégpálya. There, in a beautiful place you can try ice-skating.
In case you never learned to ice skate, there is no reason to be afraid, nice staff will help you, and it will be adventurous as well if you have never tried it before!
You can rent the skates, and there is also skate education. The prices are firendly, 1500 ft/person/day or family ticket for 3500-4000ft. After 1-2 hours of sport, playing, laughing and feeling child still or again you can have a nice hot tea or spicy mulled wine and finish with a walk around, finding amazing historical buildings, as Vajdahunyad vára or Jáki templom. Believe or not, in Budapest you can ski with or without snow. You can learn and permanently practice skiing in special ski resorts, like the biggest, oldest and best Fogarasi Síiskola in 3. and 12. kerület. Give a call (30/9310615), fix a date, they speak English, and try the ski education. You can rent there the whole ski equipment, so you do not have to buy it. Moving in open air is not onky a pleasure, it is also very health caring for children and for adults as well.”
