Hungarian Farsang Festival

In Hungary it is the fiesta of ending winter and approaching spring, the fiesta of beginning new life. In South Hungary, in and around Mohács there is an absolutely unique type of carnival, called busójárás in hungarian. You can find a lot of videos and images of it on internet. Do an excursion and feel yourself in something like very exotic, get the touch of living medieval. In Budapest they organize a lot of carnival parties in schools, pubs, hotels, restaurants, you can find them as “farsangi programok Budapesten”. February is also the time of balls. Some of them are very elegant, others are nice familiar. Search for “farsangi bálok”.
A lot a balls are open, you can buy the ticket with or without the traditional dinner, put on a nice dress and dance untill the next day!

“Something delicacy, the absolutely traditional hungarian carnival dood is a donut, but it has nothing to do with an other kind of donuts! except that it is also sweet!
Originally it was and is fried in fat o in oil, but  we give you a more light and easy recipe.
How to make it? What you need for 6 persons: 50 dkg white fine flour 5 dkg butter 3 dkg instant yeast 2 egg yellows 3 dl lukewarm milk jam as you like it Put together all the ingredients, knead it well with the kneading machine, than leave it covered in a warm place for 1 hour. Than form small balls and push a hole in the middle for the jam. Put the balls in a baking tray lined with baking paper, let space between. Bake themin preneatedoven 20 minutes 160 celsius. Enjoy!
